Every day Ezra #57

This post will be about leyl haseder when I stayed awake from kadesh to nirtzah. Nirzah was finished at 2am. At the seder there were 20 people. The seder was at our cousins' house. At kadesh we had the first cup. At urchatz we did netilat yadayim without the bracha. For karpas we had parsley dipped in salt water. Then for yachatz we split the middle matza for the afikoman. During magid me and my cousin Shalom said the 4 questions aka Ma Nishtana. In magid everyone talked and talked and talked etc...They talked an hour and a half! We did our skit of the 10 plagues. In rachtza we washed or hands and we found our uncle hiding the afikoman inside the matza box. Then we got it and hid it and then gave it back. In motzei matza we do what it sounds like. In maror and korech we had lettuce and charoset. For shulchan orech we ate the meal, while I played with my cousins. Then we did tzafun when you eat the afikoman. But we already found the afikoman so it wasn't that fun. Then there was all the singing and that was it.

Everyday Ezra #56

In Israel, kids get off for Pesach on vav (6) Nisan. And so there is a pre-Pesach camp. We went to the Chava v'Adam Ecological Farm camp. At the camp, we did hikes, played games, and all other kinds of things.  The first day of camp we found a dead snake and buried it.  The second day we made an oven for pita.  We made the oven out of mud. The mud was made out of water, soil and straw. On top of the oven, we put a big metal plate. The third day we made pita and every other group made a different food. Some made chocolate covered corn flakes, cookies, popcorn, tea, lemonade and focacia. On the fourth day we had a huge tiyul (hike) to the hills. We saw cows from a different kibbutz. We stopped at a big acacia tree, it is what giraffes eat from, but they are much bigger in Africa than in Israel. After we came back from the hike another group made pizza. On the last day of camp, Thursday, we went on a hike to different hills, to a cave. On the hike we saw shrew holes, deer poop, and a snake trying to eat a lizard. The lizard dropped its tail, I didn't see it, but that's what it looked like. Then we hiked a lot more and then we got to the cave. In the cave there was a fig tree that was sick. When we came back, we didn't really do anything that fun. We returned to camp that evening from 5-9pm.  On regular days we got out at 1pm, but didn't stay from 1-5pm. During the evening, we gathered sticks for a fire and put rocks around a place for the fire. After everyone brought the sticks back, then we made a fire and ate dinner which was rice, lentils, cucumbers and tomatoes.

I'm sorry that the farm's website is in Hebrew. I'll post soon.

Everyday Ezra #55

Today is one of the last days before Pesach break. We get out on Friday until the 2nd of April. This week we are wrapping everything up before Pesach. At home we are doing homework. Yesterday we made soup at school, but I didn't eat it because it looked like orange sewage.  Guess what I did for it? I cut a yam with a plastic knife! Today we had a tekes for rosh chodesh Nisan.
